Toast Of New York retires

Toast Of New York, our stable stalwart has been retired.

Toast first came to prominence in the public eye when winning the 2014 UAE Derby. After this he was campaigned in America, where he would finish second to Bayern in the 2014 Breeders' Cup Classic at Santa Anita, with Derby winner California Chrome a neck further back in third.

Toast has been a life changing horse for us and his former owner Mr. Michael Buckley and we're forever grateful.

He will now be given a great retirement. He's not a horse who would be happy doing nothing, he needs to be active so we will be sure to find him a nice purpose in life. Toast is still in Uplands at the moment, and along with Jimmy McCarthy, who has been at his side since he was a yearling, we're going to see if we can do some kind of retraining of racehorse classes with him.

We would like to say a special thank you to Al Shaqab for all of their support and for allowing Toast to have a happy retirement at home here in Upper Lambourn.
